IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOG, DO NOT TRUST K-9 CLIPS IN CHELMSFORD.  THE GROOMER CUT MY DOG AND DENIES ANY RESPONSIBILITY.   I took my little Pomeranian dog to this groomer (Jenn) on Thursday, June 20, 2024 and allowed her to shave her because she was matted.  When I picked her up and got her home, she was visibly in distress and I even saw her scooting, which she has never done in the past.  I could not comfort her and knew that something was terribly wrong since she was shaking and hiding in her travel kennel.  She has been to the groomers many times and never behaved this way after grooming with other salons.  First thing on Friday morning, June 21, 2024, I called and spoke to Jenn to tell her that my dog was not doing well after the grooming.  She then informed me that it was likely just an irritation since she had to shave her so close.  She reassured me that it would be better in a day.  The next day, Saturday, June 22, 2024 it was even worse since she was not eating, voiding, and was whimpering in pain.  At this point, I physically examined between her legs and discovered a wound near her vulva.  The wound was not actively bleeding but there was a small amount of blood where she was laying.  I immediately called the groomer, but they were closed since it was Saturday.  My little dog required immediate medical care so I consulted with an emergency vet who assessed her as having a curved 2-3 cm laceration adjacent to the vulva that was moderately red and excoriated on it's surface.  The treatment plan included prescription medications to be given over the next 5 to 10 days.  This included 2 prescriptions for pain, an oral antibiotic, and a medicated cleanser to keep the wound clean.  The vet also had me get a surgical suit and diapers for her to wear so as to keep her away from the wound.  I also had to restrict her activity so as not to aggravate her discomfort.  I spoke with the groomer on Monday, June 24 to share with her the results of the vet's report and to inform her that I expected to be fully refunded $377.00 for the cost of the grooming and all of the medical bills that I incurred as a result of her injuring my dog.  Jenn denied causing the injury to my dog and refused to acknowledge any responsibility for the horrific experience that she put my dog through.  I requested to speak to the owner.  She said that the owner is her mother and her name is Catherine Lafleur.  She said she would have her mother call me.  I managed to speak to Catherine today and she is declaring that Jenn is an excellent groomer who would never hurt an animal.  She also outright denied that Jenn injured my dog during grooming and went as far as to say that the vet is wrong and has no right to declare this as a laceration caused by grooming.  This situation is completely unresolved and will likely require small claims court.  I will continue to follow the vet’s instructions to get my fur baby well again.  I am writing this review to raise awareness to pet owners in the hopes that other pets will not suffer at the hands of this groomer and K-9 Clips Salon in Chelmsford!
