The Near North Palliative Care Network is the Visiting Hospice Palliative Care of the Nipissing/Parry Sound region in Ontario, Canada. NNPCN is a non-profit organization providing one-stop Hospice Palliative Care, Bereavement and Grief, and End-of-Life volunteer-based free services, training and education in Northern Ontario.

Our Mission is to enhance the comfort, dignity and quality of life of individuals with a terminal illness, and to offer bereavement psychosocial support throughout the community.

Our Vision is that every resident of Northeastern Ontario can experience their end-of-life with dignity and comfort, pain free, and with physical, psychological, social and spiritual support provided to them wherever they may be living: in the hospital, in hospices, in long-term care facilities or at home. We support a decentralized model of palliative care-giving, going to the client where the client is.

Our Core Values are: Human Dignity, Compassion, Social Responsibility, Community Service, Transparency, and Excellence.

Our Operating Principles are: Individual with a life-limiting illness, family and caregivers are at the centre of care, compassionate listening, companioning, non-judgmental support, confidentiality, and professionalism.

We are funded by the NE LHIN and by generous donations from the private and corporate sectors in the region. We establish Alliances with local organizations, businesses and liberal professionals.

We raise awareness, establish dialogue and create synergy with local political governance, local corporations, businesses, liberal professional, educational and health care institutions, the media, other community services, and the open community, about this unavoidable aspect of the human condition: our mortality, and the ways and means to have a dignified, comfortable, supported end of life.
